Contribution to the establishment of an address referential<\/p>\n

Abstract<\/p>\n
The localization of geographic information remains essential these days, despite the many tools and applications using geographic information system (GIS) technology to locate accurately any information related to an address. This is mainly due to the development of the geographic information use and to the urban growth in many developing cities.<\/p>\n
In this paper, we develop a methodology allowing the implementation of an Address referential in order to present the importance of Geocoding in spatial analysis. To accomplish these objectives, we sampled different addresses for two residential areas in the city of Oran (North West of Algeria). The paper concludes with an evaluation of geocoding quality that depends on the positional error caused during Geocoding Addresses. Positional error was determined using the distance between each geocoded point and its true location as determined with Google earth imagery.<\/p>\n
